Saw Director in Heist Thriller Akula
Akula (2010) Movie — By Nix on February 12, 2009
Apparently haven’t grown tired of severing body parts and playing mind games with one-dimensional cardboard stock victims, Darren Bousman is now moving from the “Saw” franchise to a heist thriller set onboard a submarine in the new movie “Akula”. Of course, after the “Saw” hatchet jobs and “Repo: The Genetic Opera”, a movie starring Paris Hilton, it’s no surprise that Bousman would want to get as far away from society as possible, and what better place than to go under water? What I’m trying to say is, Paris Hilton is STD-ridden, which has nothing to do with “Akula”, but I thought I’d just mention it anyway. Hey, you gotta take cheap shots when you can, am I right?
Says Variety:
Constantine is financing, and Jeremy Bolt and Paul W.S. Anderson are producing. Alex Litvak is doing a rewrite.
Pic is a heist film set on a submarine, Bousman said.
“The tone is dark, but very different from the films I’ve directed recently,” he said.
Yes that’s right, kids, it’s another movie by Paul W.S. Anderson, not to be confused with the other Paul Anderson. You know, the one you don’t hate with a burning passion?
