Saw This Coming: NBC Won’t Air The Cape’s Season Finale

Looks like it’s the end of the road for another Summer Glau show. NBC has announced that they won’t be airing the Season 1 (and probably series) finale of their new superhero show “The Cape”, opting instead to “exclusively premiere” it online at the show’s official NBC site.

Which is the same as saying: “We think the show sucks so bad, that the ratings will be so Godawful, we’re going to put something, pretty much anything, in its time slot and not lose sleep over it.”

Of course, this doesn’t mean the show is doom and won’t be back for a second season, but come on, between you and me and the computer monitor, I think we know that that’s exactly what this means. Then again, we probably saw this coming when the network cut the show’s first season order from 13 to 10 episodes not all that long ago, so the writing has been on the wall for some time now, and this isn’t much of a surprise.

Oh well. At least we’ll always have Orwell:
