Scantily Clad Concept Art for Robert Rodriguez’s Live-Action Fire and Ice

EW‘s got your first look at some concept artwork for Robert Rodriguez’s upcoming live-action remake of “Fire and Ice”. Says Rodriguez about his film, which will be a remake of the Ralph Bakshi’s animated 1983 film (itself based on the paintings of Frank Frazetta, who passed away last year):

I want it to look like you just stepped into one of his paintings, where you get to see his world, and how he saw people, anatomy, and composition and color. It will feel like it’s real, but not real. It’ll be his reality. He saw things differently. He painted from his imagination. He didn’t take a photograph and just paint it.

Rodriguez plans to start shooting by early 2012. Here’s the plot:

From his stronghold in Ice Peak, the evil Nekron sends forth a wave of deadly glaciers, forcing humanity to retreat to Fire Keep, a kingdom ruled by a generous king. When King Jarol’s daughter Teegra is kidnapped, young warrior Larn teams with the mysterious and legendary Dark Wolf, to rescue the princess and the realm from Nekron’s evil sorcery.

What are the chances this will be an R-rated movie. If not, it will be too watered down to really be a Franzetta illustration. However, if it does make it like it should be made, this movie will be a lot of people’s wet dream.

Rodriguez doesn’t seem to be scared of making an R-rated movie, so I’m hopeful.
