I don’t know if James Wan’s “The Conjuring” is one scare after another as this new trailer for the film seems to hint at, but damn, if you’re prone to, say, fits of being easily terrified, it might be a good idea to skip this movie in the theaters, and only watch it with the lights on and lots of company on DVD or cable. Of course, you can see most of the scares coming a mile away, though that won’t help when they crank up the “scare music” up to max levels and toss in a gnarly chick into your face. Still, good stuff, good stuff.
Check out the second trailer for “The Conjuring”. Is it me, or do I detect a CG shot or two in the trailer? I was under the impression Wan was going strictly practical effects with this one, like he did with “Insidious”…
Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. Based on a true story, “The Conjuring” tells the horrifying tale of how world-renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were called upon to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most terrifying case of their lives.
Starring Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ron Livingston, Lili Taylor, Joey King, Shanley Caswell, Haley McFarland, Mackenzie Foy, Kyla Deaver, and Sterling Jerins.
Scaring the crap out of you this July 19, 2013.
