Ever wanted to see Scarlett Johansson all wet and screaming for her life in the showers? (Wait, no, don’t answer that.) Well you’ll probably get your chance when she stars in Fox Searchlight’s biopic “Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho”, which will chronicle the famous director and, well, the making of his most famous film, 1960’s “Psycho”.
Johansson, coming off an asskicking role in Joss Whedon’s “The Avengers”, will be slipping on some femme fatale slippers when she steps into the motel showers as actress Janet Leigh in the film. James D’Arcy would play Anthony Perkins, the man with the knife who made showering an adventure.
The film itself, though, would focus mostly on Hitchcock (to be played by Anthony Hopkins) and his “struggles during the filmmaking of the horror classic”, as well as his relationship with his wife Alma (to be played by Helen Mirren).
So yeah, a pretty impressive cast here, kids.
Sacha Gervasi (“Anvil! The Story of Anvil”) will direct from a script by John McLaughlin, with Ivan Reitman, Joe Medjuck and Tom Pollack producing. The movie will be based on the nonfiction book of the same name by Stephen Rebello.
I always did think there was a 1960s movie star quality about Johansson…
