I’m not exactly sure if this is a proper first teaser trailer or just some promo footage from Jonathan Glazer’s upcoming sci-fi drama “Under the Skin” (based on the book by Michel Faber), but it’s definitely the first footage from the movie that’s been released. The movie is currently playing the festival circuit, including Telluride, so it makes sense that a teaser trailer might have been released to press.
Here’s your official first look at Scarlett Johansson as an alien seductress prowling the highways of Scotland in search of human prey. Why? I have absolutely no idea. It certainly looks very stylish and artsy, if that’s what you’re into. But I’m going to go out on a limb and say that most of the guys are easy pickings to our alien visitor.
From the sounds of early reviews for Glazer’s film, much of the randomness that existed in Faber’s book looks to have been ported over to the movie. I guess that’s a great thing if you’re a sucker for faithfulness to the source material, but probably not so much if you expect your alien movies to be a little more exciting.
“Under the Skin” stars ScarJo and a bunch of guys, and is currently looking for U.S. distribution.
