Yup, it’s official. “Expendables” buddies Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone liked working together so much they are indeed re-teaming for “The Tomb” for director Mikael Håfström (“The Rite”) and producer Mark Canton in the prison break film “The Tomb”.
Written by Miles Chapman, “The Tomb” will star Stallone as Ray Breslin, “the world’s foremost authority on structural security. He’s analyzed every high security prison and has gained a vast array of survival skills. But all Ray’s ingenuity and knowledge are about to be put to work in the most challenging test he’s ever faced: escaping from the master prison of his own design.”
Schwarzenegger will play Church, “a complex inmate with multiple shades of grey. He’s the guy who fights to keep the prisoners from losing their humanity in their darkest hour as they struggle together to stay alive.”
Here’s a thought: would anyone really mess with a guy like Schwarzenegger or Stallone if they were actually stuck in prison? I’m guessing not.
“The Tomb” is expected to shoot in Louisiana this spring.
Just a thought: “Church” is the name of the character played by Bruce Willis in the two “Expendables” movies. Schwarzenegger’s name in those movies was Trench. I’m just sayin’. Why didn’t they just call Arnold’s character in “The Tomb” Trench? Not that it would have changed the plot any, mind you, but you know, it would have been kinda wacky. I like wacky in my prison break movies. Who doesn’t?
