Scorpion King 2 DVD Cover

Whether you wanted it or not, you’re going to get it, so you mind as well sit there and take it like a man. Yup, it’s “The Scorpion King 2″, which was originally subtitled “Rise of the Akkadian”, but they seem to have dump that part according to this DVD Region 1 cover art from DVDactive and replaced it with “Rise of a Warrior”. Why? Probably because no one knows what an Akkadian is, and “Warrior” just sounds more warrior-y.

Starring Michael Copon, taking over the Mathayus role previously played by The Rock, Randy Couture, Karen Shenaz David, Clodagh Quinlan, Pierre Marais, Amira Quinlan, Simon Quarterman, Chase Agulhas, and directed by Russell Mulcahy (”Highlander”) from a script by Randall McCormick (”Speed 2″).

It hits DVD shelves August 19 and goes for $29.98 smackaroos a piece. The fancy Blu-Ray ones go for $39.98.
