I haven’t heard this before, but according to the guys at Scott Adkins’ fanpage Scott Adkins Fanz, the man himself has joined the cast of Renny Harlin’s upcoming “Hercules 3D”. The site has also posted two posters for the upcoming movie, which you can see below.

“Hercules 3D” will star Kellan Lutz (“Twilight”) as the son of Zeus, while Adkins (“The Expendables 2″) will play King Amphitryon, who according to the Hercules legend, is the husband of Hercules’ mom Alcmene, who was impregnated by Zeus after the horny God disguised himself as Amphitryon in order to seduce her. This results in Alcmene giving birth to twin boys — Hercules, Zeus’s son, and Iphicles, Amphitryon’s son.

I haven’t a clue how that works, but you know the Greeks. Wacky people, them.

IMDB.com lists Liam Garrigan as playing Iphicles, so it looks like Hercules’ twin bro will be in the movie, which will also star “Spartacus’” Liam Hemsworth as Hercules’ buddy Sotiris. The plot finds Herc and Sotiris being sold into slavery and having to fight their way to freedom against an evil King. Since Adkins is playing “King Amphitryon”, I wonder if he’s the villain?

Harlin is directing the film, which is scheduled for March 2014. It’s not to be confused with the Dwayne Johnson, Brett Ratner-directed “Hercules”.

The tag line on the second poster would have been perfect for the Marvel version of Hercules, too bad they already used it : (

“Herculees Herculees”….everytime I hear that name I think of Eddie Murphy saying that and clapping his hands at the dinner table during some comedy movie that he did.
