Remember that movie “Beware the Night”? The one that features Eric Bana and Edgar Ramirez battling demonic forces in New York City? If you have that flick penciled in your “Movies I Must See Before I Die” notebook, then you might want to break out your eraser. According to director Scott Derrickson, the film has a brand new title.
However, don’t fret too much about the title change. The movie is still about a cop and a priest who battle otherworldly villains in the Bronx. And the flick is still scheduled to hit theaters next year, so don’t bug Scott Derrickson about the whole name change on Twitter.
Here’s the official synopsis for the flick:
“Deliver Us from Evil” is the story of a New York cop who meets a renegade priest when he is pulled into a case which the priest convinces him, against the officer’s religious beliefs, is demonic related. Together they work to solve the case and combat the paranormal forces working against them.
In addition to Bana and Ramirez,
“Beware the Night” “Devil Us from Evil” also stars Olivia Munn and Joel McHale. I wish I had a poster or a trailer for you, but all I have are these words. That’s so 1993. Since I have nothing but text, here’s a hot photo of Munn. After all, we already have that mouth-watering shot of Bana from “Chopper.”
