Scott Stewart’s Priest Coming to DVD and Blu-ray This August

I didn’t detest “Priest” nearly as much as others, mostly because I’ve never read a single story in the series. It also helped too that I’m a huge fan of the lovely Maggie Q, who amplifies my enjoyment of any movie by tenfold. For those of you who missed the film during its short theatrical run earlier this year, “Priest” will land on Blu-ray and DVD this August, courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Video. As per the new trend, the unrated version of the flick will only be available on Blu-ray.

Individual specifications reside below:

Commentary with Director Scott Stewart, Writer Cory Goodman, Paul Bettany and Maggie Q
Deleted & Extended Scenes
The Bloody Frontier: Creating the World of Priest
Tools of the Trade: The Weapons and Vehicles

Blu-ray Exclusives
Bullets and Crucifixes: Picture-in-Picture Experience

Blu-ray 3D Exclusive Bonus Material

Weapons and Vehicle Exploration in 3D: Get 360-degree views, explore key highlights and see Priest’s weaponry in action!

“Priest” and Maggie Q save the proverbial day on August 16th, 2011.

Author: Todd Rigney

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at)

I really really wanted this movie to be good. Unfortunately, it was really really bad. Thought maybe it was like Sucker Punch and surprise me, but alas, no. If they continue this series, they need a better screenwriter who can produce some real tension.
