Add three more victims to Wes Craven’s “Scream 4”: Adam Brody, Marley Shelton and Erik Knudsen. The four will join the young cast of Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, and Rory Culkin, who will themselves be joining returning “Scream”‘ers Neve Campbell and the Arquettes, Courteney and David.
THR has former “OC” cast-off Brody (pictured, left) playing “a cop recently graduated from college who was raised on the ‘CSI’ TV series.” No idea what that means, but hopefully there won’t be ridiculously bright neon lights and swirling camera shots whenever his character shows up onscreen.
Marley Shelton (below), meanwhile, will be taking over for Lake Bell, who bailed on the role due to scheduling conflicts. She’ll play a police deputy who knew Neve Campbell’s Sidney Prescott character from high school.
The third newcomer, Erik Knudsen, will serve in the Randy role, originally played by Jamie Kennedy in the first two movies before he was killed off. The Randy role is essentially that of a horror movie nerd who knows all the “horror movie rules” and generally provides amusing comic relief.
“Scream 4” is currently shooting for a 2011 release.
