Screwball Criminal Shenanigans Abound in Li Kai’s Crazy Stupid Thief

If there’s one thing you can expect from Chinese comedies, it’s wackiness. And there seems to be an abundance of wackiness spread all over director Li Kai’s upcoming rib-tickler “Crazy Stupid Thief”, a film about a group of bumbling criminals who are fighting one another for the same payday. The film stars Francis Ng, Lam Suet, Liu Ying, and is currently set to open in Chinese theaters on March 1st, 2012. And while I don’t always understand Chinese humor, “Crazy Stupid Thief” appears to contain just enough goofiness for me to take an interest. I won’t be offended if you think I’m easily amused. After all, you’d be right.

The first trailer for the aforementioned title resides below. And if that isn’t enough to satiate your desire for cinematic stupidity, there’s some images down there, too.

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at) beyondhollywood.com.
