Sean Patrick Flanery is a Crazed Space Merc in Travis Zariwny’s Scavengers

Scavangers (2012) Movie PosterAnnounced way back in 2009, Travis Zariwny’s sci-fi actioner “Scavengers” is finally seeing the light of day in 2013. Or at least, the trailer for the film is. As for the movie itself, it looks like foreign territories will be first up, with probably a DVD release Stateside later in the year. If we’re lucky, anyway. (And if you happen to be a fan of Sean Patrick Flanery, which I am.)

It actually looks pretty decent for what I’m guessing was a moderately budgeted sci-fi flick. Or at least, the space sequences don’t look like they were done on someone’s old Mac Quadra. (And if you know what an old Mac Quadra looks like without having to Google it, congratulations to you and me.)

A team of space scavengers discovers superior alien technology that threatens the balance of the known universe. Hotly pursued by a rival crew of intergalactic mercenaries, the Revelator crew must fight through the deepest reaches of space to locate and protect the life-altering device.

Also starring John Lee Ames, Roark Critchlow, Jennifer Jalene, Louise Linton, and Jeremy London.

I’ve just watched it…………it’s awful………… as for the sexy mercenary with on the front of the poster………..she’s supposed to be a lethal fighter and in one scene she takes on a bout 8 people with guns, only we don’t see her fight them…….the scene cuts to another location with the main actor, then we cut back to the sexy mercenary “fight” scene….only all we see are dead bodies on the floor (With no blood on them) and the sexy mercenary standing over them………..this is the short of thing you might forgive a student film maker making a short……….but in a feature movie it comes across as a silly and pathetic effort.
Although there are some action scenes…….most of the 90 minutes is filled up with rather slow meaningless dialogue.
    As for the ending……………very poor.
