Second Last Airbender Trailer Pushed to February 2010

Uber producer Frank Marshall has tweeted that the second (and we presume, first full) trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s “The Last Airbender” (goodbye, “Avatar” in the title) has been pushed back from its original Christmas premiere to sometime in February of 2010. The culprit: a lack of finished shots from the blokes over at George Lucas’ Industrial Lights and Magic, who are doing the special effects for the movie.

Not enough ILM shots finished, so LAST AIRBENDER trailer will not debut until Feb…

So, here’s the original teaser trailer released sometime back to keep you occupied until February.

I was looking forward to the new trailer. More opportunities to see the White Kids being chased by villainous Asian and Middle-Eastern looking men.

Plus see more of the mediocre wushu from the cast or the great stunts from the Asian stunt people.

^.^ This thing looks freakin awesome!
I can not wait for the full two minute trailer, cause if all this is in 30 seconds imagine the entire movie! ah.. now if they can do a sneak peak special then that would be even better. can’t wait for the movie

Erm, Firebending has its source from ones breath. No outside firesource needed. Duh, according to the show but not necessarily the movie. If you look at the other firebender he bends the fire from the open fire right next to him. From what I’ve heard the comet allows firebenders to bend without a source of fire, which is why I’m wondering why Iroh can do it and the comet doesn’t show up for another 3 years

Ah. Okay haven’t seen the whole series, but I was ahuge fan. It’s on my list of “boxsets to buy.” I guess that kind of makes sense. I was always under the impression that with out a source it wasn’t possible but as I was writing that I remembered fire benders shooting flame from their hands without a source. As for having to use the flame from the open fire, I think that was for dramatic effect AND because having a source (though not needed) probably increses the strength of the flame. I saw that scene hence me thinking they couldn’t do it without the source, but like I said I remember seeing some fire nation warriors tossing flames at Aang in some episode and no flames being present.
