2nd Nightmare on Elm Street Remake Trailer Brings the Fear

While the first trailer introduced us to the origins of the new Freddy Krueger, the second full trailer (via Myspace) introduces us to the teenagers (or, er, 20-somethings playing teenagers, anyway) that Freddy will be coming after. Freddy also gets off a couple of nice quips in-between all the teen terrorizin’ he does in the trailer, which is effective enough to bring in the kids by the thousands when this film opens in April.

Fred­dy Krueger re­turns in ‘A Night­mare on Elm Street,’ a con­tem­po­rary re-​​imag­in­ing of the hor­ror clas­sic. A group of sub­ur­ban teenagers share one com­mon bond: they are all be­ing stalked by Fred­dy Krueger, a hor­ri­bly dis­fig­ured killer who hunts them in their dreams. As long as they stay awake, they can pro­tect one an­oth­er…but when they sleep, there is no es­cape.

Starring Jackie Earle Haley, Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Katie Cassidy, Thomas Dekker, Kellan Lutz, Clancy Brown, Connie Britton, Lia D. Mortensen, Charles E Tiedje, and directed By Samuel Bayer.

    Oh man! Now THATS what I’m talking about!!! He looks creepy as hell. Third pic down is just kinda grotesque. And I love the line “Why are you screaming? I haven’t even cut you yet!” And the micronaps thing is just awesome. Bring on the Nightmares Baby!!

    Ok so that kicked arse but I wanna find out something – I read somewhere that in this re-make or re-boot however you wanna put it, the children of elm street may have framed freddy, thus the parents have taken their vengence out on the wrong person and freddy’s anger is slightly justified – is this true if so personally I think that takes away from the horror that is freddy ie: a true monster, I don’t want to feel any sympathy for his character

      Nope He did it. That’s just part of the trailer. Read a set review and there was a recount of a pretty disturbing scene. And it has nothing to do with post burn Freddy. So yeah he’s still a child molester.

    Well technically you can’t justify ALL that killing he does but I do get your point though, you shouldn’t be able to feel sympathy or empathy for him. The burns look a lot more realistic in this one. They did their homework on how burn victims really look. I also like the fact that their sort of getting rid of the “one liners” and comedy. It’s funny they mentioned the micro-naps. It’s true, I stayed up for three days straight because of a security job I had and I was in school at the time too, I began to hallucinate after I got my second wind. It’s pretty freaky. I saw some really weird shite and i started talking funny saying stuff didn’t make any sense. Lastly I started seeing shadow people,THAT made me hurry up and get some sleep.

      See that just ain’t right, but hearing you say that makes the movie seem cooler. I hope they talk a little more about how bad sleep deprivation is and how in the end they’re worse off because of it.
