Second Trailer for Brad Anderson’s Vanishing on 7th Street

Brad Anderson’s “Vanishing on 7th Street” has introduced a second trailer into the light, along with a February 18, 2011 release date. The second trailer is a variant on the first trailer, but the second half piles on the “shadow people” and terror. Good stuff. I just hope the payoff is better than some of the other “strangers trapped in a single location by evil forces” movies I’ve seen lately, where the Big Reveal were such huge disappointments. But hey, this is Brad Anderson, the guy who gave us “The Machinist” and “Session 9”, so it must be good, right?

A mysterious and seemingly global blackout causes countless populations to simply vanish, leaving only their clothes and possessions behind. A small handful of survivors — a reporter (Hayden Christensen), a nurse (Thandie Newton), and a subway operator (John Leguizamo) — must band together in a dimly-lit tavern on 7th Street to combat the apocalyptic horror around them. Realizing they may in fact be the last people on earth, the darkness hones in on them.

Starring Hayden Christensen, Thandie Newton, John Leguizamo, Taylor Groothuis, Jordan Trovillion, Arthur Cartwright, Jacob Latimore and directed by Brad Anderson.

Stay in the light February 18, 2011.
