Ah, good old fashion “I wish my mother-in-law was dead” jokes. Even cavemen apparently hated their mother-in-laws even back then. Makes sense. Then you have shoe jokes and fire gags, too. All that and more in the second trailer for Dreamworks’ new CG movie “The Croods”, which actually looks pretty funny. If, that is, you can get over the familiar voices in the unfamiliar looking faces onscreen. I know there’s a reason why studios hire big-name actors to do voices, but I can’t help but wonder if unknown voices wouldn’t be more appropriate sometimes…
The Croods is a prehistoric comedy adventure that follows the world’s first family as they embark on a journey of a lifetime when the cave that has always shielded them from danger is destroyed. Traveling across a spectacular landscape, the Croods discover an incredible new world filled with fantastic creatures — and their outlook is changed forever.
Featuring the voices of Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone, Catherine Keener, Clark Duke, Cloris Leachmam, and directed by Kirk De Micco and Chris Sanders.
The Croods come out March 22, 2013.
