This is not really all that Red Band-ish, but there are talks of, er, stuff you wouldn’t normally talk about during family dinner, so I guess that’s why it was slapped with the tag. In any case, check out a new clip from “The Campaign”, which features Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis sitting down with their respective families to go over their family’s dirty secrets in preparation for the coming campaign. Actually, only Galifianakis’ family seems to have the dirty secrets. Ferrell’s family is just kind of boring.

When long-term congressman Cam Brady (Will Ferrell) commits a major public gaffe before an upcoming election, a pair of ultra-wealthy CEOs plot to put up a rival candidate and gain influence over their North Carolina district. Their man: naive Marty Huggins (Zach Galifianakis), director of the local Tourism Center. At first, Marty appears to be the unlikeliest possible choice but, with the help of his new benefactors’ support, a cutthroat campaign manager and his family’s political connections, he soon becomes a contender who gives the charismatic Cam plenty to worry about.

Also starring Jason Sudeikis, Sarah Baker, Dylan McDermott, Katherine LaNasa, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, Dan Aykroyd, and directed by Jay Roach.

The campaign kicks off August 10, 2012.
