Tim Burton’s “Dark Shadows” remake may have not been the big hit he was hoping for (especially coming off the $1 billion dollar making “Alice in Wonderland”), but Tim Burton and wacky claymation are usually ingredients of a funky good time at the movies. His latest is “Frankenweenie”, about a boy who brings his dog back from the dead. Because let’s face it, if your dog is fun times and a bag of chips when it’s alive, it’s gotta be twice the bag of chips and fun when he’s undead, right? Right?
When young Victor’s pet dog Sparky is hit by a car, Victor decides to bring him back to life the only way he knows how. But when the bolt-necked “monster” wreaks havoc and terror in the hearts of Victor’s neighbors, he has to convince them (and his parents) that despite his appearance, Sparky’s still the good loyal friend he’s always been.
Featuring the voices of Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Conchata Ferrell, Atticus Shaffer, Martin Short, Tom Kenny, Martin Landau, Charlie Tahan, Robert Capron, and James Hiroyuki Liao.
