Hot dang. It’s like Zack Snyder himself directed this thing. Which begs the question: if a mostly noob director like Noam Murro can easily replicate what Snyder did in the original “300”, what does that say about Snyder’s style in the first film? Just sayin’. Trailer looks badass, though. Definitely looks worthy of a movie ticket, that’s for bloody (with emphasis on the bloody) damn sure. Check out the latest trailer for “300: Rise of an Empire” below.
By the way, if Sullivan Stapleton’s Themistocles doesn’t get a little nekkid action with Eva Green’s Artemisia or Lena Headey’s Queen Gorgo in this movie, it might be the first time I don’t see this guy getting a little sumthin’ on the screen. (All you fans of “Strike Back” will know what I’m talking about.)
Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster “300,” this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war. “300: Rise of an Empire” pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemisia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.
Starring Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, Lena Headey, Hans Matheson, David Wenham, and Rodrigo Santoro.
After being slated for 2013, “300” now rises next year on March 7, 2014.
