Mexican alien invasion movie “Seres: Genesis” has found an American distributor. 24 Frames has acquired the North American rights to the film. Directed by Angel Mario Huerta, the movie will hit Mexican screens on September 24, while a US release is being planned for late in October.
The movie’s tale is set in motion when a young girl is found amid the wreckage of an accident caused by an alien craft. The head of a secretive task force investigating the paranormal, played by telenovela star Alejandra Barros, must solve the riddle of a frightening message delivered by the girl, which suggests humanity is on the verge of extermination by a hostile alien force.
“Seres” is based on a trilogy of Mexican graphic novels from Huma Comics. To coincide with the release of the film, the first of the three installments will be translated into English.
From the trailer, this looks like it could be really cool, but then again, I have a soft spot for apocalyptic tales of alien invasion where the extinction of mankind is on the line.
