I’m not sure if it’s that no one wants to direct Lionsgate’s “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies”, Seth Grahame-Smith’s zombiefied take on the Jane Austen novel or if Lionsgate is just having a really bad time of choosing directors, but whatever the reason, Grahame-Smith has now emerged as a potential directing candidate himself. Like most actors, he’s apparently always wanted to direct, too.
Along with Craig Gillespie, who is currently doing the “Fright Night” remake, Lionsgate is said to be considering producing partners Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg (left) as co-directors for the movie. Since neither guys have ever directed before, “Pride” would be their directorial debuts.
Grahame-Smith’s “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” is moving along nicely over at Fox, and is almost ready for production. The same, alas, can’t be said for “Pride”, which besides not having a director, doesn’t even have a star yet. On the plus side, Grahame-Smith is now penning Tim Burton’s “Dark Shadows” movie.
