Seth Rogen is the Green Hornet. What, you Can’t Read?

If you were one of those people holding your breath that Sony Pictures would finally come to their senses and snap victory from the jaw of defeat by taking the Green Hornet property away from Seth Rogen, you’re sadly mistaken, chump. Sony has put up a logo for Rogen’s upcoming “Green Hornet” movie (I’m guessing this thing cost, what, $5 million to produce? Hollywood does everything big, in case you didn’t know) at the film’s kinda official site here.

As you can see, Seth Rogen is indeed, the Green Hornet, and he’s coming Summer 2010. God help us all.

Word is Rogen is trying to get Stephen Chow to play second fiddle to him as Kato. Please, Stephen, say no. I beg of ya. If you say Yes, I will never look at you the same way again, by which I mean, I will have lost all respect for you.

  • Why?

    Dont be so condescending Larry.
of course more than 100 people know of the Green Hornet outside the TV show.
It was popularizied in comics both modern, silver age and golden age. It was defined in radio and movie serials as well.
To say that only 100 people recall that is ridiculous.

It’s unfortunate that characters like the Green Hornet who have faded into obscurity, weak from years of service, and without anyone to defend their integrity, easily fall prey to vultures like Sony and Rogen who descend with their jagged interpretations to butcher them in the moonlight. Laughing as the blood sprays onto the bricks, the bean counters and corporate henchmen rifle through our aging hero’s pockets for a few measly bucks. Can no one save the Green Hornet from the slimy, villainous greed that is Hollywood? Kato… Where are you?!
