The boys at Relativity have given David R. Ellis’ shark movie “Shark Night 3D” an official release date. The 3D shark picture will be chomping on innocent nubile young lasses September 2, 2011, just in time for, well, whatever else you got going around that time, I suppose.
The plot for the film involves seven men and women who spend a weekend at a lake house in Louisiana’s Gulf area. When their vacation quickly becomes a nightmare of hellish shark attacks, unheard of in freshwater lakes, they soon discover that the sharks are part of a sick, greedy plan on the part of several locals. As oppose to, you know, just murderous local yokels. These guys are greedy, too!
“Shark Night 3D’s” cast of shark fodder — er, I mean, characters include Sinqua Walls, Chris Carmack, Alyssa Diaz, Joel David Moore, Katharine McPhee, Sara Paxton, and Dustin Milligan.
One can only hope that Ellis (the “Final Destination” movies) follows in Alexandre Aja’s footsteps by keeping the film just serious enough to make the kills effective, but not serious enough that he wouldn’t waste a couple of minutes on scenes like this:
