Sherlock Holmes 2 Gets a Shadowy Title

Yesterday we learned that Marc Webb’s Spidey reboot was given its official title (“The Amazing Spider-Man”), and today we’ve learned that Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes sequel has been given its own official title: “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows”.

If you’re a reader of the Interwebs as I am, you might find that this title doesn’t sit well with most bloggers. Apparently people expected something with more pizazz, though why, I haven’t a clue. It’s Sherlock Holmes. “A Game of Shadows” sounds just about right.

“Shadows” is due out December 16, 2011, with newcomer Noomi Rapace joining the cast of Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes and Jude Law as his faithful sidekick Watson. Jared Harris also joins the cast as Holmes’ nemesis, Moriarty.
