Short and Sweet South Korean Teaser for Tsutomu Hanabusa’s Sadako 3D

I’m pretty excited to see “Sadako 3D”. Although watching the iconic long-haired ghost throw out the first pitch at a recent Japanese baseball game was a little wonky, I’m still excited to see the old girl terrorizing young folks like she used to back in the day. South Korean horror fans will get a chance to see the flick on the big screen this summer. And do you know what that means? We get a brand new 30-second trailer! That exclamation point only works if you’re truly excited about seeing the film. Judging from your body language, I don’t think that you are. Get with the program, will you? Geez.

Here’s the plot synopsis. Yet again:

13 years after the original Ring movie, Sadako returns to the big screen in 3D! Akane is a high school teacher who hears a rumor from her students that there is actual footage on the Internet of someone’s suicide. The footage is said to drive anyone who sees it to also commit suicide. Akane does not believe the rumor at first, but when one of her female students dies after viewing the footage, she and her boyfriend Takanori are fatefully drawn into the horror that has been created by the man who appears in the suicide footage, Kashiwada. Kashiwada’s intention is to create chaos in the world by bringing back Sadako and the power of her curse. Now Akane has to fight against Sadako and Kashiwada to save the lives of herself and Takanori.

“Sadako 3D”, which Satomi Ishihara, Koji Seto, and Yusuke Yamamoto, opens in South Korea on June 14th, 2012. Here’s hoping we get a proper release in the US before the end of the year. So, you know, pretty please and stuff. With sugar.

Todd was raised on a steady diet of Hollywood blockbusters, late-night Cinemax programming, and USA’s “Up All Night,” which may explain why his taste in movies is more than a little questionable. When he isn’t providing news and reviews for Beyond Hollywood, he can be found lounging lazily on his couch, perched in front of his television, or dwelling in places where direct sunlight can be easily avoided. He's happily married, in his 30's, and totally badass. If you'd like to reach Todd, you can follow him on Twitter or send him email/scoops to todd (at)
