Showtime Greenlights Damian Lewis’ Homeland

Showtime has ordered a full season of Damian Lewis’ new show “Homeland”, which will find the former “Life” cop and “Band of Brothers” C.O. teaming up with Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin.

Produced by former “24″ guys Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon, “Homeland” will find Lewis playing Scott Brody, a U.S. soldier who returns home eight years after going missing in Iraq. Danes will play Carrie Anderson, a driven CIA officer who suspects that Brody has been brainwashed during his time in captivity by Al-Qaeda and might now be plotting an attack on America soil. Mandy Patinkin will play Anderson’s mentor and boss.

Production on “Homeland”, a remake of the Israeli show “Prisoners of War”, is set for this Summer. There will be twelve 1-hour episodes.
