Shut Off Your Webcams, Kids, it’s the Paranormal Activity 4 Trailer

Paranormal Activity 4 (2012) Movie Image

The studio released chunks of this trailer for “Paranormal Activity 4″ throughout the week, which is a bit silly. I don’t think most people posted their teaser trailer teasers beyond the first teaser except the horror sites. But then again, those poor guys have so little actual horror material to work with on a given week, they’ve resorted to reporting news on sci-fi movies like “Total Recall” and “Robocop” and trying to justify them as “horror”. The poor bastards.

Anyways. Directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman return for the second time around with “Paranormal Activity 4″, the latest in the supernatural series that will never, ever die. At least, not as long as you crazy kids think it’s a great idea to film every little thing about your silly, insignificant lives. As usual, the film is due out around Halloween or thereabouts — in this case, October 19th, 2012. SOP finds the cast consisting of a bunch of unknowns (it’s cheaper that way, you know), and the entire thing is shot in the Found Footage format.

I could be wrong, but part four looks more scripted than the previous three, which may or may not be a good thing. Plus, the lead is now a really young looking blonde teen who likes to videotape herself sleeping and webchat with dudes. Wouldn’t it be hilarious if Chris Hansen showed up while the ghost/spirit/whatever is sneaking up on the girl?

“So, what were you expecting to do here with this pretty teenage girl, Mister Ghost Spirit? Is that a six-pack?”

As for the plot: Ghosts. Cameras. Action! Seriously. At this point do you really care what this latest entry is about? You’re either going to go see this thing or you’re not, there is no in-between. Enjoy the trailer, enjoy the trailer-ers.

I enjoyed the last three, this one looks to be the next logical step. I’m in.
