In an interview with the blokes at MTV, M. Night Shymalan reveals that he took one of the villains that were supposed to appear in his “Unbreakable” sequel (apparently there were going to be more than one villain), and is now using the bad guy in his third “Night Chronicles” movie instead.
Says the Nightman:
I cannibalized the idea for the sequel to ‘Unbreakable’ for one of the ‘Night Chronicles.’ It was such a cool idea for a villain, and it was actually originally in the script for ‘Unbreakable,’ and it was too much. There were too many villains, so I pulled this villain out and was like, ‘I’ll make this the second flick.’
For those who don’t know what all these “Night Chronicles” stuff are, it’s just a trio of movies that Shyamalan has commited to doing.
The first in the “Chronicles” is “Devil”, which is due out later this year. The second will be the supernatural jury movie “Twelve Strangers”, and the third, which is still unnamed, will be the third “Night Chronicles” movie in question.
Got all that? Good.
