Sienna Miller is Maid Marion in Ridley Scott’s Nottingham
Robin Hood (aka Nottingham 2010) Movie — By Nix on June 19, 2008
Sherwood Forest has just gotten a little friskier, with the addition of Sienna Miller (pictured) to Ridley Scott’s upcoming “Nottingham” in the role of Maid Marion. Miller will play the woman at the center of a love triangle between the upright Sheriff of Nottingham (played by Russell Crowe) and dashing bandit Robin Hood (still uncast), who may or may not rob from the rich and give to the poor in this new version from Scott and Crowe, which promises to take a different perspective on the oft-told legendary tale, reports Variety.
Leave it to Ridley Scott to re-invent Robin Hood, and not necessarily for the better. Hood will now deserve his “hood” last name, with the Sheriff of Nottingham being portrayed as an honest lawman who just happens to be working for a scumbag king. Maybe they can make Robin Hood a pot smoking hippie, too. Just a thought.
Shooting is scheduled for Summer from a script by Ethan Reiff and Cyrus Voris. Brian Grazer is producing for Imagine Entertainment.
Look for Robin Hood to finally get his comeuppance November 6, 2009. He has it coming.
