Silent Hill 2 Gets Director, 3D, and Generic Sounding Title

In-between dodging foreigners and other assorted hazards at the American Film Market, the boys at Bloody-Disgusting have found some nugget of news about “Silent Hill 2″, namely, yes, it is indeed being shopped around, and what’s more, it’s already landed a director, title, and will be going 3D. (As if you couldn’t already guess the last part.)

According to BD, Michael J. Bassett, who last wrote and directed “Solomon Kane” (the franchise starter that never launched a franchise, although I liked it enough), will helm the sequel, now going under the generic-sounding title of, “Silent Hill 2: Revelation 3D”. (And yes, that is also the title of the new “Hellraiser” movie, in case you were wondering, though “Hellraiser” apparently will have revelations, while “Silent Hill” will just have a revelation.)

The plot for the sequel goes thusly:

The sequel follows Heather Mason, along with her father, who have been on the run – always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t full understand, Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by horrific nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever.

Here’s a promo poster for the sequel:

Hope this is as good, if not better than the 30 days of night sequel. Both original films were under rated and yunder appreciated.
