Simon Baker Searches for The Killer Inside Me

Michael Winterbottom’s adaptation of the Jim Thompson noir classic “The Killer Within Me” has found its good guy in The Mentalist star Simon Baker. In the thriller, Baker will be playing a county attorney who attempts to expose a small town West Texas Sheriff (to be played by Casey Affleck) as a serial killer. THR says Baker joins a cast that already includes Affleck, Jessica Alba as a prostitute, and Kate Hudson as the sheriff’s schoolteacher girlfriend.

Michael Winterbottom (”9 Songs”) will be directing from a script by Robert Weinbach and John Curran. Shooting for the thriller is expected to start this week in New Mexico and Oklahoma.
