Sin City 2 Adds Jaime King and Jamie Chung

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For Comic Book CoverWow, it’s really happening. Can you believe it? It sure took them long enough to get off their ass and make it happen, that’s for sure. But it’s finally happening — “Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For” is currently in production, with Robert Rodriguez once again co-directing alongside Frank Miller, who created the comic book series the movies are based on.

And now they’ve officially added Jaime King and Jamie Chung to the cast.

King is returning, having appeared in “Sin City” as the ill-fated Goldie. She’ll play Wendy, Goldie’s twin sister in the sequel. Chung, meanwhile, will be taking over the role of Old Town’s deadliest swordswoman Miho, previously played by Devon Aoki in the first movie. No word on why Aoki was replaced, but it could just be that Chung, with roles in “The Hangover 2″, “Premium Rush”, and “Sucker Punch” is just now way more famous.

The two will join Clive Owen, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba and Rosario Dawson in the sequel, which will focus on the limited comic book series “A Dame to Kill For” as well as new material that Miller wrote specifically for the movie.

The sequel’s biggest casting, of course, remains that of Ava, the seductress from Dwight’s (Owen’s character) past who comes back to haunt him. Angelina Jolie would have made a perfect Ava, but I don’t see that happening. Also, a new character called Johnny, described as “a smooth gambler”, is also being cast.

mmmmmm Jamies!!! Love me some Jamie Chung! Sad to see Aoki go, but Chung can definitely pull it off, and look sexier too!

  • Jazz Bebop Justice

I am not going to lie, Jamie Chung is unbelievably gorgeous! I thought the first Sin City was average, but admittedly I will watch this for her.

    Charlize Theron for Eva!!

  • kraven

totally dig the fact rourke is back in here. he was killer in sin city (compared to lame o in iron man 2) and could have had a story built just around him. i would add a vote for charlize (needs to make up for that aeon flux thing).

Jamie Chung as Psylocke in X-Men: Days Of Future Past please!

    • http://www.beyondhollywood.com/ Nix

      Didn’t they turn Psylocke Caucasian?

      • Juggernaut

It is wicked confusing. In the comics she was actually a caucasian character who gets kidnapped, brainwashed and physically altered to look asian. Wether or not they have changed her back in the comics I hav no idea. In The Last Stand her character was asian but altered drastically from her comic itteration and made a part of the mutant group The Omegas along side Callisto, Quill (aka Kid Omega) and Arclight.
However, in the DOFP comic story arc, Psylocke is the Red Queen of The Hellfire Club.

Maybe Jim Lee turned her Asian. But then again, most of my X-Men reading days were during the Jim Lee days. Heh.

        • http://www.beyondhollywood.com/ Dedpool

Nope still Asian, still a ninja. And they didn’t jsut physically alter her, they actually switched her body with an assassin named Kwanon. That got resolved but Psylocke has been stuck in her body since.

          • Juggernaut

Like I said, confusing. Lol. Still, Psylocke done properly in an X-Men film would be cool and Jamie Chung would fit that bill nicely!

Really looking forward to “Sin City 2″. I hope it is done right. Love the first film. We need more films made like “Kill Bill”, “Machete”, “Sin City”, “The Man With The Iron Fists” to compete with all the crazy, wild and well-made Asian films like the “20th Century Boys” trilogy, “Casshern”, “Natural City”, “Flying Swords of Dragon Gate”, “Tom Yum Goong”, “Chocolate”, “Ong Bak” 1 and 2, “Azumi” 1 and 2, “Battle Royale”, “Versus”, “Death Trance”, “Death Note” 1 and 2, “The Host”, “Volcano High”, “Kung Fu Hustle”, “Shaolin Soccer”, “House of Flying Daggers”, “Fearless”, “Suriyothai”, “Gantz” 1 and 2, “Running on Karma”, “Hero”, “The Storm Riders”, “A Man Called Hero”, “The Legend of Zu”, “Time And Tide” and “The Twins Effect”.
