Sinestro and Kilowog Get Their Own Green Lantern Posters

Two new additions to the Green Lantern Corp. in the form of character posters for shady “hero” Sinestro (voiced by the shady Mark Strong) and Kilowog (thunderously voiced by Michael Clarke Duncan). Thanks Blk Flash for the heads up.

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan. Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

Starring Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Temuera Morrison, Jenna Craig, Jon Tenney, Tim Robbins, Angela Bassett, Taika Cohen, Jeff Wolfe, Michael Clarke Duncan, and directed by Martin Campbell.

The Corp rises June 17, 2011.

Nice. Sinestro’s suit definitely looks the best, the green and black are separated a lot cleaner then Hals & Kilowogs, it almost looks like a green & black spiderman suit.

Kilowog seems to have grown an extra finger lol.

Sinestro looks bad-ass. Kilowog looks… err.. fake?.

Once, in another site, I saw a pic of Kilowog were he looked organic. So real, so cool.

I don’t know, man!. This movie still doesn’t move me.

I’m gonna say that Sinestro looks the best, and i’m gonna so out on a limb and say they worked on and finished his first. I’m also guessing we still haven’ts seen the final product yet for Hal, as I just read WB just got more money for the SFX. Also, Mark Strong is playing Sinestro, not just voicing him, though he is heavily made up, and cg enhanced.

why doesn’t sinestro have a ring hmmm?

    • Lexavi80

I guess Sinestro does have a ring but in his left hand and it doesn’t show on the poster. I think is also some kind of symbolism given that we all know where he’s going.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Either way Sinestro looks BAD ASS!!! Easily the best part of the promotional material for this film has been driven by Mark Strong’s part in the movie. We’ll see soon if his performance matches his appearance.

    Kilowog looks so bad

I gotta disagree, though a photo/poster won’t do him justice (photos of Gollum always look off) I’m sure he’ll look great in the film. I really like the Armadillo like plates on his body and the stuble on his head and face, which reminds me of the hair on the head of an elephant.

You really want to love this thing don’t you man! Lol. I don’t know if you really believe what you’re saying. Denail isn’t just a river in Egypt. Lol.
That pic of Kilowog looks awful!!!

LOL like I said pics never do CG characters or art justice really. I’m actually shocked Sinestro’s suit looks so good. And yes I do. I’ve been a fan of GL for a very long time. ANd when it comes to this film I have to kind of give it a chance. Plus I just feel this is a weighted issue. I really feel even if Fillion had been cast, they used a real costume and all the other issues people are having with the film, they’d still not be happy. Its a very hard character and world to do without looking a bit campy or a Star Wars knock off of some kind. And finally we NEED for this to do well or any hope of any DC filmother than Superman or Batman will pretty much disappear for ten+ years. No Flash, No Supermax (Green Arrow though thats pretty much in development hell now), or anything else. I really don’t want that.

Deep down… so do I. I’d love a great movie. I’d love to be proven wrong. I don’t think that will happen but you never know.
As for the material being translated, you are absolutely correct. This is a hard character and world to adapt. I would have been fine with the cgi suit or the casting of Reynolds. However, all of these things (bad cgi, corny tone, Reynolds being his “Van Wilder” self) together plus the track record of non-Batman, DC films has me more than worried.

I just looked at the Sinestro pic again. Check out his gloves. Is it me or do they look similar to other aspects like the collar from the original blue and black costume?
