Looks like it’s going to start raining in Hollywood. Or, er, Rain, anyway. The South Korean singer (real name Jeong Ji-hoon) will be making his Hollywood debut in the Wachowski Brothers’ upcoming “Speed Racer”, where he apparently made such an impression that the duo have casted him as the lead in their new actioner “Ninja Assassin”, to be directed by James McTeigue.

The 26-year-old, real name Jeong Ji-hoon, will star in “Ninja Assassin,” an action flick directed by James McTeigue, the William Morris Agency (WMA) said.

“This is such a huge opportunity for me. It seems like a dream,” Rain told journalists here.

Scheduled to begin shooting later this year, the movie will be jointly produced by Joel Silver and the Wachowski brothers.

Director James McTeigue previously directed “V for Vendetta” for the Wachowskis, and also did some re-shoots for them when they were brought onboard to “re-work” the sci-fi movie “The Invasion” for producer Joel Silver.

For those who don’t know the name, Rain is a mega star in South Korea and most of Asia.
