After a couple of long years of sitting on the shelves and getting snipped by PC editors to within an inch of its life, Dan Bradley’s remake of the ’80s classic “Red Dawn” is finally arriving on movie screens across America November 21, 2012. You can probably thank the big hunky cast of suddenly red-hot actors like Chris Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson for that. With any other cast, this thing might have been dumped into a limited number of theaters to meet contract obligations before heading onto VOD and DVD. Anyways, check out six clips from the movie. It actually looks pretty decent, and I still can’t believe the fat kid from “Drake and Josh” is all grown up and, well, not fat anymore.
In Red Dawn, a city in Washington state awakens to the surreal sight of foreign paratroopers dropping from the sky – shockingly, the U.S. has been invaded and their hometown is the initial target. Quickly and without warning, the citizens find themselves prisoners and their town under enemy occupation. Determined to fight back, a group of young patriots seek refuge in the surrounding woods, training and reorganizing themselves into a guerrilla group of fighters. Taking inspiration from their high school mascot, they call themselves the Wolverines, banding together to protect one another, liberate their town from its captors, and take back their freedom.
“Red Dawn” stars Chris Hemsworth, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Adrianne Palicki, Josh Hutcherson, Isabel Lucas, Josh Peck, Alyssa Diaz, Brett Cullen, Matt Gerald, Will Yun Lee, Michael Beach, Connor Cruise, and fighting back against foreign invaders (from North Korea, natch) next week.
