Six New Brooding Character Posters for The Dark Knight Rises

Christian Bale in The Dark Knight Rises (2012) Movie Image

Judging by your comments, a lot of you weren’t all that impressed with Warner Bros.’ last poster for “The Dark Knight Rises”. I can’t I blame you. When I think big-time studio movie marketing, I don’t think changing the color and slapping an old image of your main character on an old poster. Having said that, maybe these six new character posters for Christopher Nolan’s third and final Batman film will make up for it.

Set 8 years after the events of “The Dark Knight”, “The Dark Knight Rises” finds a terrorist leader name Bane arriving in Gotham City, pushing it and its police force to their limits, and forcing its former hero Batman to resurface after taking the fall for Harvey Dent’s crimes. Will the Bat beat the Bane? Or will the Bane break the Bat? One thing’s for sure: it’s gonna be a humdinger.

Starring Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Nestor Carbonell, and rising July 20, 2012.

Loved TDK, but am still sorely disappointed that after all this time Nolan still thinks that Batman costume looks good. And while the cat suit is great, if he really wanted to go for realism, a cowl over Hathaway’s head with the same goggles would’ve worked, too (maybe even better), similarly to Catwoman’s look in the comics.

What’s wrong with the Batman costume….

I’ve never liked the way the cape attaches and the helmet (let’s call it what it is: a helmet, not a mask) has always made Bale look like a bobble head, IMHO.

        • Juggernaut

I agree on both statements in Batman Begins. However, in TDK they seemed to make his mask/helmet a bit more streamlined and lost the dumb ass shoulder clip things that attached the cape.

Eh, honestly, I’ve never liked any of the live action versions of the cape and cowl outside of that Sandy Collera short.

That was amazing! I hope that one day a hollywood movie is made with that design.

Or at least something close. The “Arkham Games” have done a great job of giving him the classic look with the realistic touches.

And the Sandy Collera one based on Alex Ross was definitely nice.

So much debris. This is going to have elements of No Man’s Land for sure!

Well duh! Remember the bridge destruction sequences in the trailer.

      I can’t wait!
