Like your movie trailers with a heavy doses of mystery, sci-fi badassness, and weird going-ons with alien Space Jockey shenanigans and whatnot? Then these two new trailers for Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus” should suffice. Yes, two new trailers. The entire thing. None of that wacky teaser to the trailer nonsense that Fox was pulling earlier in the month. So what’s the occasion? “Prometheus” holding its shindig over at Wonder Con, apparently. Update: Did I say two new “slam bang trailers”? I meant three. The third one has been added below.
It’s there that Scott told the gathered masses: “[Prometheus] evolved into another universe. If we’re lucky, there’ll be a second part. It does leave you with some nice open questions.” Oh, Ridley, you tease, you.
As for the plot, it finds a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that, we’re promised, “will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life’s ultimate mystery.” Hey, sounds better than a team of scientists and explorers eating breakfast in the cafeteria, am I right?
Starring Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba, Guy Pearce, Ben Foster, Logan Marshall-Green, Kate Dickie, and Sean Harris.
“Prometheus” lands June 8, 2012.
