Sly Stallone Needs a Plan. An Escape Plan, If You Will, in First Trailer

I think Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character said it best when he remarks to Sly Stallone’s character, “You don’t look that smart.” Looks can be deceiving, as it turns out, because Stallone’s character is one of those “the best at what he does” type of guys. In this case, he’s the best at breaking out of prisons. Which is a skill he’ll need when some nefarious types tosses him into prison in director Mikael Håfström’s “Escape Plan” (formerly “The Tomb”). You’d think if the guy is so good at breaking out of prisons, you wouldn’t put him back in a prison. Maybe tie him up in a dungeon or something, right?

Anyways, take a gander at the first trailer for it below, take a ganders. Definitely getting vibes of those two “Fortress” movies with Christopher Lambert and the middle section of John Woo’s “Face/Off” here. But maybe the filmmakers are just counting on you not remembering those flicks.

One of the world’s foremost authorities on structural security agrees to take on one last job: breaking out of an ultra-secret, high-tech facility called “The Tomb.” Deceived and wrongly imprisoned, Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone) must recruit fellow inmate Emil Rottmayer (Arnold Schwarzenegger) to help devise a daring, nearly impossible plan to escape from the most protected and fortified prison ever built.

Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Jim Caviezel, Sam Neill, Vincent D’Onofrio, Vinnie Jones, 50 Cent, Amy Ryan, Faran Tahir, Jeff Chase, Matt Gerald, Caitriona Balfe, and Jaylen Moore.

Escaping this September 13, 2013.
