Ryan Reynolds is not quite like Liam Neeson’s character in “Taken” here. He’s more of an average Joe who doesn’t have a unique set of skills, skills that make him a nightmare for people like the ones that took his daughter. But hey, it’s really cold up there near the US-Canada border in Atom Egoyan’s “The Captive” (originally titled “Queen of the Night”) so you can imagine he won’t be running around the country karate chopping people in the neck. Unfortunately.
Take a look at the intense first trailer for Atom Egoyan’s “The Captive.” It looks really good, in a depressing sort of way. The plot synopsis is also really complicated:
Eight years after the disappearance of Cassandra, some disturbing indications seem to indicate that she’s still alive. Police, parents and Cassandra herself, will try to unravel the mystery of her disappearance.
Wha…? So what, the trailer is entirely from the first 30 minutes of the movie?
Starring Reynolds, along with Scott Speedman, Rosario Dawson, Mireille Enos, Kevin Durand, and Alexia Fast.
