Sorority Row Remake Gets Cast
Horror Movie News, Sorority Row (Remake 2009) Movie — By Nix on September 18, 2008
If you’re a fan of 1983’s “The House on Sorority Row”, then you’re not gonna like this news. But then again, if you’re a fan of bad teen slasher movies from the early ’80s, do you really have much of a right to be mad at anything, seeing as how these movies were generally pretty awful to begin with in the first place, and your liking of them sorta, you know, meant you didn’t really have much of a taste in movies? Having said that, they’re remaking “The House on Sorority Row”, and the cast is rounding up into shape, counting among them a samurai girl, a MTV “reality” star, and a woman who used to look pretty smashing in a gold bikini.
Reuters via the Hollywood Reporter breaks it down for ya:
Audrina Patridge from MTV’s “The Hills” is set to die a sadistic death in “Sorority Row,” a remake of the 1983 horror movie, “The House on Sorority Row.”
The cast also includes “Samurai Girl” star Jamie Chung and Hollywood scion Rumer Willis. Carrie Fisher is in negotiations to join the project.
The plot sees a group of sorority sisters try to cover up the death of their house-sister after a prank gone wrong, only to be stalked and killed by a serial killer.
Fisher would play the sorority’s house mother. As with Patridge, Chung will also play a sister with a shortened life expectancy.
Remember when Carrie Fisher was sexy? In that gold medal bikini? Or better yet, remember when teen slasher movies actually hired real actors instead of MTV “real life” stars? Oh who am I kidding. These movies were always training grounds for would-be screem queens and the occasional one or two breakthrough starlets who would go on to be ashamed of her involvement in the movie that launched her career.
Plus, Audrina Patridge kinda looks good in a bikini below. And really, isn’t that all that matters when you’re casting a crappy horror movie remake based on a crappy original?
