Spider-Man 4 Scheduled for 2011

Written by Nix | June 21st, 2008 | 0 Comments |

Director Sam Raimi is being extremely vague about whether he’s coming back to direct “Spider-Man 4″ (and probably, also “5″), and star Tobey Maguire hasn’t said much about it. On the other hand, no one has bothered to ask Kirsten Dunst if she wants to come back, and no one seems to care if she does or does not, which kinda sucks for Kirsten. But as for “Spider-Man” producer Laura Ziskin? She recently told theater owners at a get-together that she expects “Spider-Man 4″ to land in their theaters in 2011. And oh yeah, there is no finished script yet.

Via E! Online:

Laura Ziskin, producer of the blockbuster movie franchise starring Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, on Thursday told theater owners from California and Nevada that Spider-Man 4 won’t hit theaters until at least 2011.

She said there is no script yet and neither Maguire nor director Sam Raimi have signed on.

The three “Spider-Man” films have made a combined worldwide gross of $2.5 billion. So yeah, I think it’s safe to say that, come hell or high water (with or without Raimi and Maguire), the web-slinger will definitely return to the big screen.
