Spider Sense Tingling! Yup, More Spidey Reboot Set Pictures

The boys and gals at I09 have added a gaggle of new pics from the set of Marc Webb’s “Spider-Man” reboot. It’s actually pretty amazing that we’re getting so many images from the set, but I suppose that’s a combination of the film being shot in Los Angeles (which is apparently crawling with camera-armed paparazzi, if you believe TMZ) and starring two “hot” young stars in Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.

“Spider-Man” stars Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Emma Stone as his love interest, Gwen Stacy. Denis Leary plays Stone’s policeman father, while Sally Fields and Martin Sheen play Peter’s Aunt and Uncle, respectively. This time around, Spidey will battle villains Rhys Ifan as The Lizard and Irrfan Khan as Adder.

Spidey gets rebooted July 3, 2012, still a full year and a half away.

Not feeling the gloves (the blue under the red looks bad) and the boots (the silver on the shoes makes them look like sneakers). Boots especially as there doesn’t need to be tread. Spidey’s powers work through contact. Therefore he can’t stand up on a wal with those. He can climb, but his hands would be the only thing actually sticking, as the soles are too thick for contact. That said the last 3 pics look decent.

And why is the cop trying to squeeze his spider booty?

Last pic looks like a toy.

    • Roce

      Yes it does! That’s funny.

seriously!? this costume really looks bad! no matter how you look at it. even the ben reilly costume is way better than this one. if sony, the director and producers are just trying to make a statement just for the heck of it they should seriously reconsider. this is not the way to go… seriously!

Going to watch japanese spiderman tonight just to get the taste of this out of my mouth. Hope this one has some good villains oops the lizard and adder nevermind.

Have to agree, Spideys costume is a classic and should not be tinkered with too much, minor updating ok but this is way off. Try a focus group of Spidey fans and it will crash and burn as for the villains…..the Lizard does have key ties to the story line but Adder? There are many better ways you could have gone….Man Wolf, Jackal…would have had much closer links.

Agreed on all counts. Adder though becomes the proto goblin which would lead to this Spiderman’s Green Goblin

  • ThorsFury

    Train Frigging Wreck !
They painted the muscle tone in the costume. Disney will F up cornflakes.

This is all Sony. Disney has nothing to do with this, as Sony has the movie rights to Spidey. SO as for right now Marvel/Disney aren’t able to do much about this attrocity.

Oh and they’ve painted the muscle tone on the suits for years. It’s silkscreened into the Raimi suits, adn at least it isn’t a molded muscle suit like the burton Batman and Flash tv series (which I loved anyway)

      • Juggernaut

All of the complaints about the suit are valid. As for the muscle toned suit this looks bad like the 1980′s wrestler El Giante! Lol. But as you have said Dedpool, the costumes used on Raimi’s films had this too. I also agree about the molded suits of 89′s Batman and the Flash series. They worked for visuals but for functionality they blew. The Flash Series was legendary!
