Spidey Has Seen Better Days in Two New Amazing Spider-Man Pics

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) Movie PosterIt might seem like those Avengers fellas (and gals) are getting all the press lately, and that’s probably, well, because they are. With only four more days until the film opens, you can expect plenty of more coverage of America’s (nay, the world’s) first superhero team-up on the big screen.

But Sony would like you to know there’s another Marvel comic book character with his own movie coming out this year. That would be the Amazing Spider-Man, your friendly neighborhood wall crawler, courtesy of director Marc Webb and new Peter Parker Andrew Garfield. Speaking of which, check out two new images of Garfield as PP discovering that superhero crimefightin’ ain’t all it’s cracked out to be.

In the reboot, Parker gets a new love interest (helloooooooo Gwen Stacy), a new civilian nemesis (Gwen’s pops) and a new villain in The Lizard. “The Amazing Spider-Man” also looks like the darkest Spidey we’ve seen yet. I don’t ever recall the cops trying to gun down Spidey in the Raimi films, but I could be wrong.

“The Amazing Spider-Man” also stars Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, Sally Fields, Julianne Nicholson, Campbell Scott, Rhys Ifan, Irrfan Khan, Annie Parisse, Chris Zylka, and slings into theaters July 3, 2012.

Can’t wait for the scene with the police. That looked awesome in the trailer

This movie is going to be cool! I really like the inclusion of Oscorp as an entity in the film which could lead to so many other plots and characters. He could easily encounter employees (Doc Ock, Vulture, Smythe), technology (the equipment of Mysterio, Shocker, Scorpion, Rhino) people undergoing procedures (Man-Wolf, Hydro Man) or benefactors (Silvermane, Chameleon, Tombstone) and obviously Norman/ Green Goblin. If done right this series could spawn a much greater list of characters and plot lines and finish big with a truer version of Green Goblin as it’s swan song!

I just hope that they don’t kill off Gwen in this one. The original Gwen storyline should be brought to the big screen. I know that Raimi did his take on the scenario with MJ in the 2002 movie but a true homage to that arc would be priceless. I’d say after the events of atleast three other films in this series Norman steps out as the true villain in the fourth installment and goes after everyone in Peter’s life. He fails to kill Aunt May or MJ (his new love interest since the end of the second/third movie) and has been foiled by Spider-Man when trying to go after other mainstays such as a reformed Dr. Connors, Liz and Felica. However, he captures Gwen, Peter’s first love and best friend and drops her to her death. Spider-Man has no choice but to kill Osborn and end the movie series with a bang!

See I thionk a trilogy that sets up the goblin would rock, then bring him on and hava goblin triilogy with Hobgoblin being in the second and the return of a suped up Goblin with the Gwen thing happening in that. SPiderman doesn’t kill, but I think it should have the tragic trying to save his best friend’s dad moment but realizing he can’t save Norman from himself.

I don’t know how realistic any of this is but it would be cool. This series doesn’t neccesarily need to be done as a trilogy. I know that most actors an directors don’t want to be tied to any one specific project for too long but it could work as a longer series.

Thats why I said like 2 trilogies.Kinda like what they did for “Saw”
