Spidey Throws Gwen Stacy Out the Window in Aussie Trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man

The Marvel Australia branch has released a new trailer for “The Amazing Spider-Man” that features some fresh new footage. Sounds like they’re still pushing the “untold story” angle pretty hard. But I guess Marc Webb and company needed something to justify rebooting the franchise just five years after the last movie, and so — hey, let’s find out what Peter Parker’s mum and dad were up to!

There’s more to it than that, of course, though the trailers and posters and promises of an “untold story” would see to indicate the filmmakers are really hoping to convince you this is something you haven’t seen before. I don’t know why they’re clinging to that angle to sell the movie myself. The film looks pretty good just as a stand-alone comic book movie, rebooted or not, and Garfield’s costume is really growing on me big time.

“The Amazing Spider-Man” reboot, starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, Sally Fields, Julianne Nicholson, Campbell Scott, Rhys Ifan, Irrfan Khan, Annie Parisse, and Chris Zylka, fills us in on what Peter Parker’s parents were up to before he became the webslinger, along with a new take on Spidey’s origins. I suspect they both involve science and whatnot. And spiders. And possibly a lizard or two.

Directed by Marc Webb, “The Amazing Spider-Man” spins is new untold story July 3, 2012.

Cool Stories From Zergnet

  • Marc Ohhhh

Didn’t he break her neck and kill her by him snagging her with his web shot like that in the comic books? Not from falling out a window though.

Falling off a bridge. And it’s always been up in the air wheter it was the fall or the webline that killed her.

  • kraven

why did they show her clinging to the web. would have been more intense to see her just thrown out the window and find out what happens when you get to the flic. just saying.

    • http://www.beyondhollywood.com/ Dedpool

Casue they aren’t trying to kill her off. They’re building their relationship.

  • kraven

still thinking it would have been more suspenseful without the ‘catch’ in the trailer and find out the real deal in store.

Well duh! That’s a given. But if you don’t want anything spoiled in a movie I suggest ignoring clips and trailers. That’s what my friend does to make sure he get’s his money’s worth.

  • kraven

agree totally. there are no more wtf moments in trailers as there are so many they almost add up to a whole flic.
