Animating CGI and the crafting of Stan Winston's wonderful 3D creatures and make up effects are two entirely different worlds. To me it's the difference between what I loved about F/X and what bores me in today's market. Stan Winston creations equally could stand as exhibits in a museum. He brought creatures closer to life more fully realized than CGI effect ever could.

As "practical" effects dwindle I feel like I'm losing the spark that made me love movies in the first place. Now with Stan Winston gone that sadness is only more compounded. Rest in Peace.
