Hey, look, that “beer factory as Engine Room” on the Enterprise is back! Seriously, one of the things that always bugged me about J.J. Abrams’ first “Star Trek” movie was the whole Engine Room set-up. It looked like something used to brew beer, not propel a starship through space. You got this slick looking ship where everything is shiny and smooth, then BAM, there’s the Engine Room, with its big bubbling vats and clunky everything. Weird. Anyways, looks like the Engine Room is back in “Star Trek Into Darkness”, and seeing vats and whatnot flying around, it just reminds me again why you don’t build your Engine Room to look like a beer brewing factory, J.J. Abrams.
Check out a new clip from “Star Trek Into Darkness”, including another one of those “Disruption” videos, this one focusing on comm lass Uhura. I suspect we’ll get a third (and probably final) one for Spock. I don’t see Sulu or the other guys getting one, though who knows.
When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.
