What’s J.J. Abrams’ “Star Wars: Episode 7” all about? Who is in it? Who is auditioning for it? What’s that weird casting notice say again?
Who the heck knows. But we do know one thing: Walt Disney has officially slotted the film for a December 18, 2015 release date.
Alan Horn, chairman of The Walt Disney Studios, chimes in:
We’re very excited to share the official 2015 release date for Star Wars: Episode VII, where it will not only anchor the popular holiday filmgoing season but also ensure our extraordinary filmmaking team has the time needed to deliver a sensational picture.
Just don’t ask what the movie is about, because they’re still writing the script as we speak.
“Star Wars: Episode 7” will be directed by J. J. Abrams and is being scripted by Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan Burk are producing, with Tommy Harper and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. John Williams is returning to score.
Shooting is scheduled to begin spring 2014 at Pinewood Studios across the pond.
