And by Starbuck I’m referring to Katee Sackhoff (left), of course, formerly of the “Battlestar Galactica” reboot and who is currently solving crimes in “CSI”. Sackhoff, along with Chad Michael Murray (“One Tree Hill”), Abigail Spencer (“Cowboys and Aliens”, below), and Emily Alyn Lind, will be joining the cast of “The Haunting in Georgia”, the sequel to the surprise hit “The Haunting in Connecticut” from 2009. There will apparently be more “Haunting in [Insert State Here]” movies down the road; or, as long as the series continues to make money.
The four play the members of the real-life Wyrick family, beleaguered by ghosts and a terrifying mystery that haunts their new home.
Murray portrays Andy Wyrick, the blue collar, no-nonsense husband to Spencer’s Lisa Wyrick, a young mother struggling with horrifying visions, a curse she shares with her wayward sister Joyce (Sackhoff) and now fears has been passed on to her young daughter Heidi (Lind). Cicely Tyson, who will next be seen in The Help, has also signed on.
Tom Elkins will direct from a script by David Coggeshall, with Paul Brooks and Scott Niemeyer producing.
Shooting commences later this month in Baton Rouge. Hey, that’s not Georgia! Close enough, I guess…
